Cycling from Vaujany is fantastic. Consider joining the GFNY Alpes Vaujany 7-day pre-race cycling camp to make the most out of your cycling vacation to the French Alps. We will ride all nearby Cols, as well as drive to a few nearby famous, beautiful Cols.

There are many activities to do once you arrive to L'Alpette. You can make your visit active (see below), or you can simply go for a small walk around the ski lift station and enjoy a delicious meal at L’Alpette’s restaurant, La Grange.

Check out other connecting ski lifts and where you can go from L’Alpette on the map. The Oz-Vaujany system is linked with Alpe d’Huez lift system, the 5th largest lift system in France (offers over 200km of piste for skiers). The 84 lifts of the Alpe d'Huez ski domain consist of 6 cable cars (smaller cabin), 9 gondolas (large cabin), 23 chair lifts, 41 drag lifts and 3 escalators.

Mountain Climbing

Climb the La Fare waterfall that faces Vaujany: Via Ferrata, Cascade de la Fare.

  • Departure is from La Villette. There are two options: the red path La Cascade, with difficulty D+, and the green path Les Passerelles, with difficulty D.

Vaujany Facilities



Vaujany has a Nursery for kids 6 months to 3 years and a Kids’ Club for kids 3-16 years old. Both are open year-round and are a service to both residents and visitors of Vaujany. Advance reservations are recommended.

Open Monday to Friday during summer. Daily kids’ activities vary by age.

Besides the nursery and kids’ club, there are plenty other activities to do with your kids, such as ski lifts, hiking (list of kid-friendly hikes is available at the Tourism Office), mountain bike school, playground, pool, heritage museum, wildlife exhibition, pony ride, archery, basketball, bowling, tennis, indoor ice skating, indoor climbing wall, library, movie theater, shopping.

Sports Complex

Vaujany has a world-class, modern Sports Complex that is open year-round. All of the below facilities are located in the Sports Complex. Many of the world’s top professional athletes go to Vaujany in the off season to train in Vaujany’s facilities, including hockey teams, ice skaters, gymnasts, swimmers, skiers, and more.

Other year-round facilities in Vaujany’s Sport Complex include an indoor ice-skating rink, bowling alley, gymnastics, basketball court, tennis courts, indoor climbing wall.

Hours of operation vary by sports facility. Day entrance fees are very affordable, from 2 euro to 12 euro, depending on facility.
